The message of Christmas is to “live humble and simple in life and to share what we have in the spirit of love in a simple way.” But this message has been lost and replaced by commercialization of the symbolism of the birth of the Savior. It seems nowadays that the yuletide season is associated with shopping and spending for the holidays. Can we not celebrate this event without spending too much? Of course we can! Christmas does not mean we have to spend a lot just to celebrate its meaning. It is in the simplicity and humility of the celebration that counts most. Christmas does not need to be expensive just try to share what we have to others I mean what is in our closet, in our kitchen or in our heart and we will not spend much this yuletide season.
Christmas is a celebration of joy knowing that we have hope in this world filled with too much sorrow, famine, hunger, war and bigotry. It is a season to rethink that somehow man is capable of changing his attitude and ways if he wants in the spirit of love and caring. A simple way to commemorate this season is maybe we can pass by the home for the aged and just try to share thoughts and laughs with that old lady or that old man with no one to talk or laugh with. Or maybe we can spend this season with our family, wrestling with our kids and letting them win and tells Christmas stories with them. Or maybe spending our time with our wife or husband talking and making love. Maybe we can send a simple greeting card personally made to our dear friend. Or maybe we can spend a few time calling our parents and saying how we love them and are thankful for giving us life. These are some simple ways to spend this holiday season without spending too much.
